Stitches are cast on for the back using a provisional method, the shoulders are shaped using short rows and the piece is worked to the underarm. Front pieces are picked up from the shoulders, the shoulders and neckline are shaped and the pieces are worked to the underarm. The front and back pieces are joined and the body is worked down in one piece with shaping. It is worked flat to the end of the placket opening and then joined to work in the round. Stitches are picked up from the armholes, the sleeve caps are shaped with short rows and then the sleeves are worked down in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up to work the neck and button bands.
